It's interesting because the room is starting to be more important to me than the actual gear I'm using. It's probably always been that way to an extent but now it's pretty obvious to me. As much as I would love a small Trident to use I didn't hesitate using the Mackie to help get all the stations together. Thanks for watching!

@@Ultimatestudiosinc yea man for a long time I always wondered why people went to certain studios for certain sounds and a lot of it was the room. Especially drums. Big high ceiling rooms with moveable treatments. Echo chambers for vocals. Etc. first real record I did years ago I remember the kit I was playing on sounded horrible. Then we moved it into the actual drum room and was night and day difference. I would love a trident console. Big or small. The digital stuff gets me by and it obviously quicker but the real desks have so much more color on the way in and out etc. keep it up man. Your channel is amazing. You talk about a lot of stuff no one else does.

No doubt having a great room is a plus, but it’s not a hard and fast rule. I’ve got a small garage studio that I’ve treated really well, and I’ve taken the time to see what microphones work best in that room, and it’s forced me to become proficient with reverbs and room sounds. You’d be amazed what one squashed SM 57 in the farthest corner of a 20 x 20 garage can sound like. 👍🏻 😊

I've been trying to find time to plan some of the videos a bit better. Takes way more time but kind of fun also. Tuning is something I need to cover. I have actually been talking with a drummer friend of mine about covering that topic together. I have a few friends that are brilliant at it and taught me a lot. I'll revive those conversations.

I would like to see more Post Mix Side Console live Chats, Recording sessions (especially with hard rock and metal bands), a full or partial mix in real-time, Ernesto doing some real-time mastering, and most important... more screen time of everyones favorite studio boss Delilah. A mixer would definitely work and would make it easy to switch between the different inputs. It would allow you to run multiple inputs at the same time too and never have to patch. You could also get a patchbay and put all of your gear, including the inputs to your i/o, in the patchbay. You'd still be patching cables but only in the patchbay as all of the gear would be permanently wired to the patchbay. This would allow you to patch one piece of gear into another if you wanted to stack things.

@@Ultimatestudiosinc Patch bay is an interesting idea. I'm definitely going for the mixer, and I need 6 XLR inputs. I've heard of some mixers that double as an interface. That would free up some space for me (and my interface is an old Line 6 UX2). Any recommendations? (I see an awful lot of mixers under $100 and I wonder about quality)
